Bacperazone is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections in various locations, including the respiratory tract, abdomen, skin, and female genital tracts.

Bacperazone

Bacperazone is a combination of Cefoperazone with a β-lactamase inhibitor, Sulbactam.

Bacperazone has an extended spectrum of activity as compared to 1st & 2nd generation Cephalosporins. Bacperazone is a preferred drug in mixed infections with suspected Pseudomonas and also offers empiric therapy for life-threatening infections, difficult to treat infections and resistant infections.

Composition

Dry Powder for Injection – Each vial of Bacperazone contains –

  • Cefoperazone Sodium USP
  • Equivalent to Cefoperazone ….250 mg / 500 mg / 1000 mg
  • Sulbactam Sodium USP
  • Equivalent to Sulbactam …250 mg / 500 mg / 1000 mg
