NUMOXYLIN CV
Numoxylin CV, a brand of Amoxycillin with Clavulanic acid, is an aminopenicillin with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.
Numoxylin CV is advocated for the treatment of susceptible infections of the respiratory and urinary tracts, and uncomplicated gonorrhea.
The bactericidal activity of amoxycillin results from its inhibition of cell wall mucopeptide synthesis. The presence of clavulanic acid in NUMOXYLIN CV protects amoxicillin from degradation by β-lactamase enzymes and effectively extends the antibacterial spectrum of amoxicillin to include many bacteria normally resistant to amoxicillin and other penicillins and cephalosporins. Thus NUMOXYLIN CV possesses the distinctive properties of a broad spectrum antibiotic and a β-lactamase inhibitor.

Indications
Numoxylin CV is indicated for in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria:
- Respiratory tract infections
- ENT infections
- Skin & Skin structure infections
- Genitourinary tract infections
- Acute, uncomplicated gonorrhea (uncomplicated ano-genital and urethral infections)
- H pylori as an adjuvant
