Cefidis is a dispersible tablet & is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as bronchitis, gonorrhea and infections of the ears, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract.

Description

CEFIDIS DISPERSIBLE TABLETS

CEFIDIS, brand of cefixime, is a third generation oral cephalosporin. It is advocated for susceptible infections of the respiratory and urinary tracts, uncomplicated gonorrhea, typhoid and paratyphoid (enteric fever) – especially multidrug resistant (MDR).

Cefixime (CEFIDIS) exerts its antibacterial activity by binding to and inhibiting the action of cell wall synthetic enzymes, penicillin binding proteins which results in interruption of bacterial cell biosynthesis leading to bacterial cell lysis and death.

Each uncoated dispersible tablet of CEFIDIS 50 contains:
Cefixime (As Trihydrate) USP

Each uncoated dispersible tablet of CEFIDIS 100 contains:
Cefixime (As Trihydrate) USP
eq. to Anhydrous Cefixime … 100 mg

Each uncoated dispersible tablet of CEFIDIS 200 contains:
Cefixime (As Trihydrate) USP
eq. to Anhydrous Cefixime … 200 mg

Indications:
CEFIDIS is indicated for the treatment of following infections caused by susceptible bacteria:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections, such as pharyngitis, sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis.
  • Lower respiratory tract infections, such as acute bronchitis and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections.
  • Uncomplicated gonorrhea.
  • MDR typhoid and paratyphoid (enteric fever).
